MEET THE TEAM

MAYA AZRIELI

Maya is the current president of Brown Synapse. She is a junior concentrating in Science, Technology, and Society on the pre-med track. She previously served as a vice president of events where she organized speakers and events for the club. She is excited to be president this year and continue working to increase awareness and advocacy for individuals with brain injury. Maya is a volunteer at Hasbro Children's Hospital in the Partial Hospitalization Program. She also loves playing the flute and studying Chinese.

RACHEL SKLAR

Rachel is a junior double concentrating in Health and Human Biology and Classics on the pre-med track. She works with the team to organize events and speakers for the club and the broader Brown community to raise awareness about brain injuries. She is particularly passionate about increasing access to care and decreasing health disparities and hopes to bring these passions into her work at Synapse.

HELEN ZHOU

Helen is Synapse's Vice President of Peer Support and the Buddy Program! She is on a pre-med track in the class of 2023 pursuing concentrations in Neuroscience and Classics. She is from Massachusetts, and in her spare time, she likes to play the violin and take film photos.

ERIC INGRAM

Eric is a rising senior from Columbus, Ohio concentrating in psychology with a focus in neuroscience and cognition. Outside of Synapse, Eric competes on the track and field team at Brown, works as the Psychology DUG co-leader, and does research in the FeldmanHall Lab. Eric is really interested in Clinical Psychology and the treatment/assessment of traumatic brain injuries. Eric is one of the Vice Presidents of Events for Brown Synapse, so he looks forward to working to planning fun virtual activities and securing awesome speakers for the fall!

ANNA KANEB

Anna is a current senior from Massachusetts studying Cognitive Neuroscience. Outside of Synapse, Anna is a member of the Brown Field Hockey team and is passionate about research in head injury, particularly sport-related head injury. Anna is also a member of the Aging and Cognition Lab and the Perception, Action, & Cognition Lab in the CLPS department at Brown. In her free time, Anna enjoys casual runs and ocean-related activities!
